Inspired by the short story "Pickman's Model", by H.P. Lovecraft.
"These figures were seldom completely human, but often approached humanity in variying degree. Most of the bodies, while roughly bipedal, had a forward slumping, and a vaguely canine cast. The texture of the majority was a kind of unpleasant rubberiness."
"..the dog face with it's pointed ears, bloodshot eyes, flat nose, and drooling lips..."
Not nearly as fearsome as I had hoped it to turn out :/ But it's only the first concept of it.
*Edited to add background effects*
*Reuploded into correct catagory*
Ah, what a wonderful depiction. Almost the same as I pictured, almost, but i thought of them as looking more bloodthirsty.
Great job. Looks close enough to real to freak someone out.

I love the things I draw, but I hate it when I try to draw. I need to wait until my ideas sit so long they're screaming as loud as they can for me to let them out, then I let them slowly ooooooooooze out onto the paper.
Personally I think its got the perfect balance of disturbing thoughtfulness and violent potential. Pickman's ghouls weren't always snarling fiends... and this one definitely has the look of something that could, and would rip your throat out.
My only suggestion (just saw this, haven't checked to see if you have a newer version) is that the muzzle seems a bit delicate for a beast that gnaws bones and such. I'm not sure if you used a dog for a reference or not, but if you do in the future I would suggest a canine with a bit more jaw.
I hate to say it, but a pitbuill jaw set would probably be a great fit.
Pickman's model is one of my FAVOURITES!^^ Thank you SO much for drawing this! You have no idea how much I love the ghouls and nightgaunts either! This is for sure going in my favourites!
